a moment to ponder

In our busy lives sometimes we allow ourselves to get caught up in daily living. The "to do" lists get long, jobs get busier and busier, homework appears out of nowhere... and then comes that moment when you feel that God is trying to tell you something. TAKE that moment. live in that moment. cherish EVERYTHING you learn from it. Do as the prophets and apostles suggest and WRITE it down (preferably in a journal or somewhere you will find it later). God gives us personal guidance and inspiration. In our day to day living let's not be in such a hurry that we miss those pivotal moments, and those vital things that God is trying to tell us.

I had such a moment today at rehearsal and thanks to all those who contributed to the spirit there and who also shared that moment with me. I'll just end my thoughts with a scripture that came to mind, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20

The Best is Yet to Be

Just a thought to start off the new year coming from studying Jeffery R Holland's talk entitled "the Best is Yet to Be" (highly recommended reading).

He said, "The start of a new year is the traditional time to take stock of our lives and see where we are going, measured against the backdrop of where we have been. I don’t want to talk about New Year’s resolutions, but I do want to talk about the past and the future, with an eye toward any time of transition and change in our lives—and those moments come virtually every day."

Repentance, a word often associated with pain and suffering and hardship, in actuality is a chance to become as God is! and we have that chance EVERYDAY!

"As a new year begins and we try to benefit from a proper view of what has gone before, I plead with you not to dwell on days now gone nor to yearn vainly for yesterdays, however good those yesterdays may have been. The past is to be learned from but not lived in. We look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes."

"To yearn to go back to a world that cannot be lived in now, to be perennially dissatisfied with present circumstances and have only dismal views of the future, and to miss the here and now and tomorrow because we are so trapped in the there and then and yesterday are some of the sins of Lot’s wife."

He goes on to explain about the sin of Lot's wife, "So it isn’t just that she looked back; she looked back longingly. In short, her attachment to the past outweighed her confidence in the future. That, apparently, was at least part of her sin."

How many times do we look back at things that used to be and wish they were that way again? We need to love the life God has given us now, not the one we had 5 years ago.

“This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13–14).

We need to allow others the same opportunity to change that God has given us.

"Perhaps at this beginning of a new year there is no greater requirement for us than to do as the Lord Himself said He does: “He who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more” (D&C 58:42)."

"This is an important matter to consider at the start of a new year—and every day ought to be the start of a new year and a new life. Such is the wonder of faith, repentance, and the miracle of the gospel of Jesus Christ."

"Keep your eyes on your dreams, however distant and far away. Live to see the miracles of repentance and forgiveness, of trust and divine love that will transform your life today, tomorrow, and forever. That is a New Year’s resolution I ask you to keep."

Jubilee and Dicken's performances

Our God's Messengers Dance Company got to dance at the Jubilee of Trees and Dicken's Festival this month! We're SOOO happy with how well everyone danced at the spirit we felt at the performances. Definitely a good start!!

A QUOTE TO THINK ABOUT:

"True success in this life comes in consecrating our lives—that is, our time and choices—to God’s purposes (see John 17:1, 4; D&C 19:19). In so doing, we permit Him to raise us to our highest destiny."

We're SO excited for our 2010-2011 Company!

Congrats to all the AMAZING girls we have on our 2010-2011 God's Messengers Dance Company! We are SO excited! ALREADY we've had such a strong spirit PLUS amazing talent at our rehearsals! We really feel like this show can change lives, even if it's just within our own company. thanks to everyone for your love and support!

I found this quote and I love it! We can apply it to each aspect of our lives. our dancing, our families, making decisions, helping a friend...

"The more you trust and rely upon the Spirit, the greater your capacity to create. That is your opportunity in this life and your destiny in the life to come. Sisters, trust and rely on the Spirit. As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you but also the world within you."

Dancers,

Company is open to dancers 18 and over!!

We hope you had a great summer!!! It has been a very nice break for Premier Dance Center, and have been able to step back and make some great changes to our business and productions.

We are so excited for this years production of "God's Messengers", and the beginning of our new company. One thing that was brought to our attention time and time again is that quality is always better than quantity, and so we have wanted to become a more private studio. With this change we will be able to really focus on our dance companies and show productions to create beautiful events that will touch the lives of many. We are looking for 12-14 dancers that are committed and supportive of our program and production who will be able to commit to the show this year wholeheartedly.

We will begin dancing September 22nd at 7:45pm the first 3 rehearsals will be open to any dancers who are interested in being a part of our company. During these rehearsals we will give more information on the company, the production, and the requirements. We will be learning movement that will be used in the actual show, and will determine where everyone stands and from there we will create our new 2010-2011 God's Messengers Inspirational Company.

Dancers will be required to attend and perform in all of our April productions and our Utah tour.

If you have any questions let me know!!

Thanks,
Misty
